DECADENT & PERFECT

Media Meeting with Lisa Mai and dotdotdot festival

Sta. NOV 23rd 3:30 pm @ Programmkino

Once you're displaying your life in the Internet you're starting to live from follower counts, likes and shares. Minimalist drawings reflect on this in A Perfect Me, A Perfect You while Bricks Don't Move In The Wind contextualises body images and beauty ideals. You're getting bombarded by a staccato of selfies, the camera follows everyone in ego perspective from birth to death. The challenges that are placed on love and intimacy by the digital world are in the centre of Noah, a whirlwind separation drama, while Ignoranz shows a tour de force through the thoughts of a young man. "Please consent to the terms of service in order to be a part of society" croons the crystal ball of Big Data in Call of Comfort while it bathes its users in affirmations and hyper-personalised advertising. The gifted braggarts of Deichkind know exactly what we need as well: Richtig gutes Zeug that might be quite expensive but Leider Geil.
