YOUKI is Austria's largest international youth media festival and takes place annually in Wels (Upper Austria) at the end of November.

The festival's International Film Competition showcases outstanding short films (up to 20 minutes) from directors aged to 27. Out of about 3000 competition-submissions, YOUKI annually screens about 90 films from every continent.

YOUKI is a vivid communication platform for the popularization of media culture. In essence, YOUKI may be described as comprehensive and passionate celebration of media. The festival's programme includes discussions on contemporary phenomena of youth, pop and media culture, exhibitions, readings, special screenings and the opportunity to meet renowned representatives of the film, media and cultural industries.

You don't just visit YOUKI, you become part of it. Participation is important to us, which is why there are various programmes to participate in and numerous offers for practical discussion in the field of media: workshops, labs, educational programs for school classes, you can become part of the festival's own TV, radio and print editorial office or even work in the YOUKI team.

Every evening the YOUKI Nightline offers concerts and party series and invites you to informal exchange and networking. The YOUKI stage sees itself as an opportunity for the young Austrian music scene.
