Pink Noise Girls Rock Camp goes YOUKI
Thu. NOV 21st 8:30 @ Alter Schlachthof, AK 10 Euro
The Pink Noise Girls Rock Camp is guest starring at the YOUKI-Nightline. It’s a logical cooperation as some bands from the Pink Noise scene have already played at YOUKI in the years before. Pink Noise stands for queer feministoriented youth and pop culture, offering a camp every summer from 2011 on where young women* get the tools and competence to conquer the stage. Protected open spaces without societally normed expectations offer possibilities to try new things, to unfurl and to strengthen one’s confidence in one’s own abilities. This process creates new band formations every year. Two of the bands that have found each other at the camp in Summer 2018 will rock the YOUKI stage on Thursday. Afterwards, DALIA AHMED and the new DJs of this day’s workshop will spin some dance records.
Give Yourself A Hand
The band is of the opinion that you should have no qualms about celebrating yourself. The best way to do so is making music together. They’re rarely taking up the same genre two times in a row and still Give Yourself A Hand have already created their personal style. Is it Indie Pop or is it Soul? The decision is made after a spontaneous coffee break most of the time.
Sometimes it feels nice to just unwind and get yourself swept away by the music. That’s exactly what the Rock/Alternative band Not Involved is for. Anna, Jazz and Vaney provide funky songs with more cowbell, just like heavy riffs and tracks with a slower pace. This band will give you your money’s worth so just be Not Involved and let the music do its thing!
DALIA AHMED is a radio host (Dalia’s Late Night Lemonade, FM4) and DJ. She mostly plays beats from the worlds of Hip Hop, Bass, and Global Club Music. No matter if she’s DJing live or in a radio programme, Dalia values a selection that shows the plurality of club music and the diversity of artists.
